Occupied Motel Remediation
Arrowsmith was commissioned for a remediation project in late 2017, with a focus on maintaining a reasonable budget while ensuring compliance with current codes and regulations. The project involved replacing cladding on two buildings - the motel and the two-storey unit block - which posed different challenges in terms of staging and the potential extent of water damage.
To minimize disruption, the works were divided into two stages, with the motel remaining operational during the first stage, which involved replacing cladding on the manager's premises and laundry. The second stage was more complex, as it involved replacing the cladding on the two-storey block containing the units, with a deadline set for completion before the 2019 AIMS Games.
Despite some unexpected complexities, such as additional framing remediation of the units, the project was completed on time and the bookings successfully maintained for the AIMS Games. Arrowsmith's ability to manage the project's scope, budget and schedule while delivering high-quality results demonstrated their expertise in the construction industry.
